ATTN Adobe Animate is shit (need help)

Okay so, before Adobe renamed Flash to Animate, you were able to click on the color pallet on your toolbar:
color p.png

And then just use the eyedropper to use any color on screen you like.

Sadly, that seems to have changed:
color p2.png

I actually moused over the red of the wine glass there. But since the layer is locked/since I'm on a different layer, it just picks up on the set background color of the .fla.

Is there any way to fix that? It seriously slows down my work by a factor of 2.

no idea if there's a fix but the red colour on the wine is #64172A

Yeah, I know. It's just annoying as fuck that I have to unlock that layer with the wine, then go to that layer and only then it allows me to eyedrop that color. It doesn't seem to work for gradients at all.

the colour picker has always been garbage in flash afaik. however i believe the colour picker in photoshop does the same thing with the layers.
